Parallel 49 Brewing 'Corn Hops' @ 8.2% , originally tasted at HOPoxia 5 on tap , this review from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $6.40
A-pour is a light gold from the tap/bottle to a clear gold in the glass with a medium size fluffy white head leaving a streaky lace along the sampler/pint , on the final pour from the bottle it becomes a bit cloudy
S-corn hops & a bit of booze
T-somewhat big tasting DIPA , with a definate dryness on the swallow
MF-ok/lots of carbonation , full body
Ov-still a slightly dissapointing DIPA & beer

Poured a Light golden yellow. with a thin creamy white head. This is to me a white IPA the corn makes it a light IPA for a double. Its ok i had to try a bottle but so many better ones out there.

341ml bottle poured into tulip 21/6/15
A lots of tiny suspended particles in a golden yellow liquid, just a couple slow tiny bubbles popping up here and there, a finger of short lived foam leaves a couple partial rings
S all sorts of citrus, lemon, grapefruit, some pineapple, guava, very fruity, some pine, maybe a little corn syrup but not much corniness if you ask me, some booze but fairly well concealed
T more corn malt and booze, piney, more lemon but not nearly as fruity as the nose, a small step back
M lighter side of medium, more bubbles then I'd guess after looking at it, a little heat going down, maybe more corn after the fact then anywhere else
O a little booze popping up here and there, sweet malts not really all that corny but I'm not sure if that's good or bad, lots of tropical hops carry this one along
I'd drink it again and seeing how I still have one left in my mixed 6 I wont need to wait long

This pours a golden colour with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. There is a bit of sediment but unlike what you sometimes see this just floats in the glass like something floating in liquid amber or zero gravity. The hops comes forward both in a earthy pine and tropical citrus both of which are followed up with a slightly bready malt. The taste reveal much of the same but in reverse. The first hing I get is a syrupy maltiness followed by lemon and grapefruit and a hoppy bitterness. That fore mentioned bitterness is actually very quick and disappears leaving that syrup malt to bookend the taste. The mouthfeel is slightly heavier than I was expecting and hides the 8.2% ABV quite well. It's a tasty beverage and I think the corn tames down the over the top sweetness you get with some Double IPAs.

8.2% ABV, 86 ibu, 650ml bottle.
A - light golden yellow with one n half head, hazy
S - citrus, pineapple, melon, hint of corn sugar, floral.
T - light in body, dry. favors with malt, sweetness, n bitterness comes later, short lasting.
O - interesting beer especially how u can taste a DIPA made with corn. both on the nose n mouthful, kinda goes to the hop side tho. wouldn't get for more but it's worth to try out!

650ml bottle. They ain't kiddin' about their proclivity with puns, especially with this one - and awesome label, FWIW, like they took the California Raisin from marketing antiquity and re-purposed it.
This beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and well-bubbly chalky white head, which leaves a strange array of layered waterfall lace around the glass as things gradually subside.
It smells of relatively testy pine resin, abstract dried citrus rind, grainy pale malt, a certain strung-out glutenous, um, 'something', a further catchy tropical fruitiness, and a twinge of burgeoning alcohol no-goodness. The taste is gritty, grainy pale malt, a ghost of the corn sugar that apparently might have been, bewildered yeast, white grapefruit and underripe lemon rind, fading earthy pine needles, and a still pleasantly clueless up-ticked boozy astringency.
The carbonation is nice and reserved in its genial and come-hither frothiness, the body on the light side of yer typical medium weight for this sort of thing, and actually quite smooth, in that particular vein of American-made fruit juices, if y'all get my drift. It finishes off-dry, just, as the running for the hills guest sugar source can't hide out as well as it thinks it can. Oh, and there's hops milling and mucking about, with vigour, but you knew that as well.
Big breath, and let it out now, and there - corn (at least in its 'flake' format) can indeed do good things, when overall intentions fall along the same party lines. Here, it simply contributes to a lighter, almost caramel-free mouthfeel, while at the same time boosting the ABV. End result? A tamer, yet still heady DIPA, one where the drinkiness (as valid as 'drinkability', IMHO) is sky-high - 'Gotta have my corn (hops)'!
