Cloudy tan color. Poured a short head that combined into larger bubbles and then dropped down to a patchy skiff in half a minute. Too cloudy to see any bubbles rising. Left strings of lacing.
Moderate barnyard with a vegetal hop scent. Mild peach scent after the barnyard cleared out. Slightly sweet. Very light pale malt. Swirling the glass boosted some barnyard components, but actually made the barnyard a little more even and pleasant.
Slightly sweet with a malt forward and the peach coming in after. Also some tart tropical fruit; perhaps a very light passion fruit. Slight hop flavor, but not very much bitter. The aftertaste is where the bitters suddenly show up. Also a mild barnyard and more sweet fruit blend.
Light tongue tingling. Started off as a creamy foam and then turned a bit coarse. Light astringency after swallowing.
One of four IPAs in their 2020 Pic-A-Hop package showcasing individual hops. This is a great idea. Unfortunately there is no information on the brewer's web site about this, and web searches suggest they have been doing this for a couple of years at least. Each IPA has a different ABV, so the recipes must be different. I would have made them identical with the exception of the hops.
Good showcase for the hops. The fruit flavors build over time, starting with peach and ending with passion fruit. The bitters stay in stealth mode and really only kick in for the aftertaste.
