Bitter pure dark chocolate and some nuttiness. There's just enough hoppiness to be a little bit crisp and refreshing, as far as brown ale goes, but it's mainly about that rich chocolatey malt.

From the 16 oz. can with no notable date. Sampled on December 25, ,2018.

It pours a gorgeous looking reddish-brown with a lasting tan head and some lacing.

Like a Brown Ale should be, this emits a sweet, nutty malt sensation more than anything else with a lower profile earthy hop character.

The mouthfeel is in the light to medium range.

The taste is a bold, sweet malt and nutty flavor as to be expected with the style. A very low to mild dry hop finale. But it's all about the sweetness. This style is pretty basic and this is a good reflection of it.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was muddy semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a good pace. Light lace. The aroma had some sweet and roasted nuts, light milk chocolate, and dark chocolate coming together. Hops consisted of some mild earthy to grassy to floral qualities. The flavor blended fairly nice between the hops and the malts, fully bittersweet and encasing the aftertaste with everything that was noticed in the aroma. Slight grassy finish. The feel was roughly medium bodied with an alright sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt as projected. Overall, pretty good brown ale, I’m guessing it wants to be a "session" brown ale but seemed to have a heftier malt bill. I’m not worried, I’d still have this again.
