Bargers brown Mild uses only the finest dark kiln roasted malts, English barley and select fuggles and goldings hops to create this bittersweet dark mild with a deliciously dry finish. This is a beer for a good session drink enjoy.

This pours a coffee brown with a creamy cap. First impressions, I pick up on the roasty notes. Drying finish. Caramel notes on the nose as it opens. Enjoyed at the source.

Had on cask at the brewery 20oz.

On arrival a nearly nitro cascade was rising completing a very fine 2 finger head. Appearance is a dark brown that doesn't completely block all light. Carbonation is very light and fine. Very nice lacing.

Aroma is a nice traditional dark figgy estery ale with some nice roasty dark chocolate caramel notes. The aroma is very heavy on the malts and fermentation. Some very light floral aroma hops are present.

Flavor follows the aroma but is very smooth and carries a very light bitterness. Very smooth lightly chocolatey malts with a light floral note and a slightly fruity fermentation note, once again pretty figgy.

Feel is insanely smooth and honestly pretty close to a guinness. More carbonated than another cask beet I've had recently amd very close to nitro. A long finish with a mouth coating maltiness that finishes with a dry roast and the bitterness builds.

Overall this is very good. My first Mild ale, and my second cask beer and this was better than my other cask beer and very tasty. It feels big despite the ABV.

Served on cask at the brewery.

Black with dark brown highlights, and a creamy tan head akin to Guinness. Great retention and lacing all the way down.

Huge aromas and flavors of black tea, toasted brown bread, cocoa powder, milk chocolate, and subtle tobacco. Enormously flavorful for 4.2%. Finishes decidedly dry.

Medium-light feel, slick and creamy, dry and crushable. Eminently drinkable.

This was fantastic. I could drink this beer all day. Wonderful.

Pours a dark brown that looks black when held opposite a light. Head is a finger of dense khaki foam that retains exceptionally well. Aroma is toffee, caramel, raisins and bread with a slightly sweet start. Flavor profile is caramel, raisins, toffee, bread and a roasty finish. It's well tempered. Mouth feel is creamy with a medium thickness. Overall, delight of a mild with a sweet little pop upfront.

Draft. Cask.

on tap at bike café. the pour is much darker than expected, almost looks like a brown ale, letting some light pass and glowing red, but looking pretty dark and thick. the head is a few fingers high and really thick, almost nitro style. the nose is English malts but not the sweetness and caramel flavors we usually associate with this. its more toasted than that, and I get a lot more soil and wood than I get sugar, which is fantastic. the flavor is pretty balanced with some goldings hops or something similar rounding out the finish. there is also a slight coffee aspect that adds some depth, and a really sturdy malt profile that gives this beer a ton of body, especially for a low abv brew. the carbonation is mellow, which is fine in this context, and the finish is bitter and dryish. a prime session beer for cold weather. by far the best offering ive had from hogshead, who seems to be shaping up a little bit in terms of quality. id love to try this on nitro!

Dark chestnut color. Served in the Imperial nonic with the mustache of foam per the English style. Spritzy enough to please the American palate. Plenty of roasted flavors. A little grain in the flavors, but overall quite clean.

You can only have so much malt in a low alcohol beer like this, but they achieve a great balance. It tastes malty, though watery and refreshing, but it has just enough edge to it. Nicely touched with hops, but not overly bitter. Hugely drinkable.

Certainly one of the more flavorful beers I've had for so low of alcohol content. Utah brewers, take note! On tap at the west Denver brewpub.
