Not top notch, but pretty good. Good color, nice head. No noticeable smell, but also ABV hidden. Rich, creamy and smooth. Worth having.

Tall can direct from the source outside of Danbury CT. a few days ago.

8.7% listed on the label BTW.

Pours very dark, not quite black. Lasting dark mocha cap. Leaving nice ringed lacing and ample fine sheeting. Nice looking brew.

Rich chocolate and black coffee on the nose.

Super smooth, like velvet in the mouth.

Rich, complex, fresh, densely flavorful...with again rich chocolate and robust cafe au lait . delicious...go get some

A really well done stout with light but roasty coffee/charcoal bitterness and tasty molasses/chocolate sweetness. Nicely blended, smooth for nearly 9%, easy drinking. A hint of some evergreen hop perhaps as well. Could crush these, yet plenty of flavor. Impressive drinkability and satisfaction for the style.

$ 7.97 (Including tax) per bomber ($ 0.363/oz) at Max Wine & Spirits, Danbury, CT
Undated bottle (2014 Charter Series) at 42 degrees into a hand washed and dried JK snifter
Aroma – initially alcohol giving away to a very chocolate aroma
Head – large (Maximum 7.3 cm, semi-aggressive pour), light brown, creamy with rocks, diminishing to a three mm ring and heaped creamy layer
Lacing – none other than a rare drag mark
Body – dark brown/black, opaque
Flavor – chocolate. Not picking up any oak or distinct maltiness initially, however the wood comes in as an aftertaste as the brew warms; no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl
Palate – full, creamy, soft carbonation

A decent price point for a RIS, this has the alcohol well-hidden and could be tempting to use as a session beer until it busts the bottle on your head.

Robust, yet well balanced, Stout with hints of chocolate, coffee, toffee, and Carmel and a solid roasted barley back bone. It pours a dark black with a full head of tan foam and enjoys a dominate chocolate and coffee aroma. This is a well balanced Russian Imperial Stout with a generous ABV at 9.1% and full flavor. It's a real sipper for a cold winter evening.

Liked this one a lot. Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a little coffee head that laces the glass. The smell is full of chocolate and espresso with some milky sweetness coming through. The taste was really nice with toffee and chocolate coming through in the beginning and then coming to coffee and and a nice finish. Could be a little thicker but overall I thought this was a really nice Russian Imperial Stout.

3/25...picked up a bottle when back in CT. Pours thick dark black, tan heavy foam. Milky, creamy to the eye. Rich coffee nose, evolves to a milk chocolate sweetness. Taste is a coffee chocolate blend, espresso bitter bursts through. Buzz of carbonation. Very fulfilling. Quite good.

Light almond on the bouquet. Black and opaque with a reasonable head. Lots of toasted malt in the front, which is followed by a light bitterness, but no velvet or little chocolate. I would have preferred something that lingers more. But on the other hand, there's no indication of the alcohol in the taste, so it's blended pretty well in that respect
