Appearance - Pours a clear deep gold, without a lot of head but a thin layer seems to stay. swirl the glass and you get some lacing staying on the sides. lots of carbonation. Edit - (after pouring a second glass i got a 2 finger foamy white head, sometimes i guess its in the pour lol)

Aroma - on the forfront of the nose I get pine resin hops maybe a slight floral smell and some grapefruityness in the back. I can also smell very slight amounts of malt. overall the nose is not super strong but the hops predominate.

Taste - taste is the exact same as the nose, the pine resin is the strongest taste. and theres a slight bitter aftertaste.

Overall - Its not the worst IPA ive tasted and its not the best. If your choices consisted of bud or this take this.

 

 

 

 

Clear amber orange color with a small off white because the bartender kept on pouring beer in the glass.

Aroma is big on citrus with pine hops mixed in.

Dry citrus hops taste with some piney attributes and just a hint of some Smokey malts hanging around.

A medium bodied beer with a dry dry aftertaste and just a hint of bitterness.

After drinking a burnt tasting amber at this place I was rewarded with a pretty darn good IPA on this hot 100 degree plus day.

 

A- Deep orange copper color with a long lasting, 1 finger width, white head. Brilliantly clear. There are signs that the beer is over carbonated as the initial head consumed 2/3's of the glass.
A- Strong aroma of cascade with a minimal trace of citrusy grapefruit
T - hint of grapefruit followed by a watery bitterness. No presence of caramel sweetness or any residual sweetness. The taste is immediately bombarded by a cascade floral flavor finished with a piney hop flavor that extends for minutes after consumption. Vegetable flavors of cabbage and asparagus support the minimal finish.
M - Beer lacks body and is watery.

The main excuse you get from the bartender is the low alcohol content, but the overall impression is that the beer that lacks quality.

Had this at Tapwerks in OK city. They had it on special on a nitro tap, have never had an IPA on nitro, so had to try it.

Golden orange with a big creamy head that lasted till the end thanks to the nitro.

Aroma of grapefruit, seemed to be a lot of cascade hops. Some malt coming through.

Taste of grapefruit, floral, light shortbread.

Great to drink, especially with the creaminess, fun, light and airy but plenty of hops to keep it interesting.

Had more luck with this one that the Sooner Stout. This was a hazy orange brew with a slight quickly fading head. Smelled of spice, hops and some orange peel. Nothing striking, but not bad. The taste was bitter and a little sweet, and went down fairly smooth. This is a fairly well carbonated, medium-bodied brew that will whet the whistle just fine if the other choices are limited.

Had on tap at a bar in College Corner in Norman, OK. Came upon recommendation from a friend who lives there.

A- Copper color with an average head. Didnt last and very little lacing.
S- Citrus hop smell.
T- Weak hop bitterness for an IPA. Very weak flavor.
M- Good mouthfeel.
D- The taste was so underwhelming that I was just ready to finish it off and move on to the Anchor Steam on tap.

On a side note, this beer is not subject to the 3.2 ABW rules in Oklahoma. That only applies to beers sold through grocery stores and your big macros just find it easier to sell nothing but 3.2 in OK hence the 3.2 macros at the bars as well.

This was served with a fluffy, off-white head. It had a decently hoppy nose underlain by malt. The color was a deep-amber/light-copper with the same high level of clarity that I had come to expect while in this region of the country. The mouthfeel was medium with a good hop presence on the palate. The finish started malty, but ended with a great hop bite. It created good lacing throughout.

Coach's IPA has a nice copper color with an average-sized head. Aroma is of a decent citrussy hop atop a mildly sweet malt body. Flavor has an acceptable citrussy hop atop a very thin malt body. The watery, thin flavor really brings this beer down. If it's true that this beer is 3.2 abw, then I give them kudos for trying, still, there isn't enough flavor here for me.

On tap at the brewsteraunt. Copper colored with an off white head. Nice lacing and head retention. Has a medium intensity grapefruit aroma. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A bitter hop flavor predominates, with a grainy malt flavor for background effect.
A pretty decent IPA considering the scant 4% abv content.

This was the only beer I had time for at a meeting I was at held in Norman, Oklahoma. Review was done at the original pub where Coach's brews are made (in Norman).

Good dark yellow color with a decent head that had a struggle lasting. Slight orangey aroma. Flavor was very strong at first, nice sense of grapefruit hops and a slight refreshing bittering. Unfortunately, the flavor takes a decided dive quickly and there was a slight sense of some soap and phenolic character. I actually found this beer refreshing, but not satisfying. Given that its brewed at 3.2% alcohol by weight, I'll give this group of brew perveyors huge points for effort and that they even try in a state that sports some of the craziest alcohol requirements in world history.

This was served for a special gathering at Coach's for local homebrwers. It was drawn using a hand-pump beer engine. The brew was heavily dry-hopped with Cascades. The result: a hopaholics dream-come-true. The aroma of fresh, citrusy American hops was intense. If you liked the smell of Tang drink mix powder when you first open the jar as a kid, then you will really enjoy the aroma. The flavor was balanced yet hop-intensive. Overall I thought this was a very special and flavorful treat and was glad I was there to have it.
