The beer drank easily at first. Toward the bottom of the glass, though, the hop flavors turned into a more sour characteristic. I especially noticed this on my second glass. My suspicion is that this beer had passed its expiration date. Upon looking further I saw that one reviewer had posted that this particular style was brewed in mid 2015. By the time I purchased it (4-2016), it had probably passed its shelf life. There was no "brewed-on" or expiration date on this bottle. It tasted quite average, and there were little orange clumps on the bottom of my glass. The feel was very nice. My first few sips were a nice creamy blended hoppy experience. Please, date your bottle.

L: Pours hazy straw gold under a clingy off white persistent foam collar.
S: Medium to medium high malt with light toast aromas, hops are not a big aroma factor – traces of earthiness and spice.
T: Layers of flavors with very rich light malt flavors at doppelbock levels, light bread, bread crust, hint of pineapple, fruit, plum, white grape. Malt driven with a slight sweetness up front that dries out by the finish with a slight tang and a bitter hop accent.
F: Super creamy very soft texture with a big body and medium to medium high carbonation.
O: This is an imperial cream ale and very well done.
