Yep, it’s still jet-black out of the gate, roasted in flavor on the back stretch, and hoppy through-and-through with Amarillo.

Interesting beer. Poured like dark coffee into the glass with a 1/2 inch head of mocha foam, dark red notes when light shines through the beer. Aromas of citrus blend with roasted barley, coffee and cocoa. The hop bitterness hits the front of the tongue as you taste it, followed by coffee and roasted malt. Sits a bit heavy on the tongue for a black IPA, but listed as an an American Black Ale, it's on the mark. Overall, a very good beer.

My favorite One Trick Pony brew, and my favorite black IPA or as they say Cascadian Dark Ale). Either way a delicious brew that epitomizes the style. Smoke, hops and balance.....as good as it gets.
