This fresh hop beer is aggressively hopped in the hop back with Cascades from our Estate Fence. Less than five minutes from when the last hop was picked until it was infused with wort in the hopback.

NW Pale Ale: Brewed with fresh Cascade hops grown on the Crux Fermentation Project property in Bend, Oregon. This beer is the fresh hop take on a house favorite, On the Fence.

Had this beer at the Portland Fresh Hops Beer Fest 2016. Don't really remember anything about this beer but must have been good as I really like Crux as a brewery, and most of the beers they brew.

Delicious. Arid florals. Like dried hops drenched in a yeasty Belgian stream in Oregon.

So yeah.... a fresh hop, belgian style IPA/pale ale. Works for me!

The beer pours a solid gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is a nice start in this beer, as I get some attractrive honey and ranier cherry, light dry citrus, some light wet green tobacco (from the fresh hops I assume), and a hint of underlying spice. The flavor profile replicates the nose, but everything is so well preportioned and balanced in this beer, it's just astonishing. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a long, crisp, clean finish that imparts a kiss of hoppy bitterness. Drinkability is just off the charts. There's a mouthwatering quality to this beer that is just lovely, and the wet hops really blend in very, very well in this excellent, well crafted beer.

The only thing unfortuante about this beer, is that fresh/wet hop season is so short, and so it won't be long before this beer is long gone. It's a shame, as this beer is just a thing of beauty, and is a beer I'd love to be able to drink all year long.
