taster at brewery. Pours out a pale golden with a frothy white head. A little light and sweet, very floral, elements of honey. Not your typical Belgian ale, a different take on the style.

Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip.
Appearance: dark golden hue with a light haze and a light effervescence. Head poured a couple of fingers of frothy ivory foam with decent retention but no lace. Not bad.
Smell: lightly toasty, grassy, perhaps a little nutty; kind of reminds me of a bière de garde but without any funk. Very autumnal; I like it.
Taste: floral and toasty, it's got some grains of paradise type flavor and maybe something along the lines of lavender. An interesting brew; it would probably pair well with herbed fish. It doesn't blow me away, but it's quite decent.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a nice, big creaminess. Great.
Overall: a pretty darn good beer. I might not go far out of my way to get it, but I'll have it if it's there.

500 ml euro-style bottle from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR $4.99 Deep ,darker golden ale with a touch of haziness to it. The head is large, thick and foamy. Egg shell white in colour. Nice phenolic and peppery aromas. Slight barnyard and slightly earthy. Very good. Taste is like the aroma but a bit more balanced..the slight grassy hop comes in more to balance the yeast flavours. Nice smooth yet bubbly palate..some nice aniseed like bitterness in the end with is cool! Overall a very nice Oregon made "Belgian".

Poured from a bottle into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to sparse patches. Aroma of light stone fruit, berries, Belgian yeast and bready malt, mildly estery and hoppy. Flavor is light stone fruit, pear, clove, honey, European hops; starts sweet, but finishes semi dry with moderate clove and hops bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A rather subdued Belgian style pale ale, with the right fruit, clove and yeast flavors, but not very assertive. The Saaz style hops are an interesting addition, but also move the flavor somewhat away from Belgian. Flavors are good, but I wanted more intensity.
