Not playing it safe and leaving all gimmicks behind, we set out to make the next great Hazy IPA with a healthy amount of spelt, wheat, and acidulated malt before dumping a ton of Galaxy and Mosaic hops into the hop back. The result is a juicy hop flavor that is as fun to drink as it is to pop those bubbles.

16 oz can from Hops & Bottles. Hazy pour, small thick head, fades to skin. Aroma is light tropical and bready notes. Taste gets funky, floral, tropical fruit, musty malts. A bit of citrus too.

another brilliant beer from cruz, who, pound for pound, has to rank among the best in the northwest, i mean everything is good across the board, and this is a nice can of haze, brightly tropical with some stone fruit undertones, epic freshness, and a lightness of body and clean ferment that make it ahead of the rest of them in terms of quality and refinement, which at this point i almost look for in front of hop profile, although this one has them both! not sure on the hops, but i get heavy ripe stone fruit, a red apple sensation, some sort of coconut flake, and possible mosaic but there is no way its just that, some pink grapefruit and skittles candy too. fuller feel, almost puffy to me, and frothy in appearance too. it has some passion fruit notes, honey, bursting pollen and springy vibes, and really just hits to me more as fresh and well made than it does as unique, which in this style, especially these days, is just fine with me. bubbly and just off dry, herbal but not bitter, pleasant and slightly rich in some way, overall just another really good crux beer, especially on the hoppy side, these guys ball out. i love the name too, this is almost as addicting as popping the stuff!

Look: Hazy yellow with a frothy pure white head that holds as a pillow up top and leaves good lacing on the glass
Aroma: Strawberries, blueberries, Cara Cara orange, pineapple, a little pine, mango, passionfruit – this smells great and also I’m not getting much in the way of malt aroma at all
Taste: Berries and citrus hit first and pineapple quickly joins in. Pine and tropical fruit notes begin to slowly mix into the fray and all of these flavors linger for a bit. Some sweet malt tries to peek in but can’t quite fully and ends with a little sharpness/bite
Mouthfeel: Full but quite light still given the style and look, a little spritzy, high carbonation, and finishes with a hint of dryness
Overall: I dig it. I’m not a haze bro but go onto them with an open mind and I like this one much more than I thought I would. An awesome hop explosion on the nose and a lot in the flavor department as well, plus this is not heavy or chalky like many I’ve had that take a hit on the feel but instead is quite light, well carbonated, and even a touch dry on the finish. Poured from a 16 ounce can into a IPA glass.

Look- Pale straw, moderately hazy, white fluffy head, average head retention, above average lacing.

Smell- Floral, herbal, slightly brett.

Taste- Herbal, earthy, slightly brett, slightly pear.

Feel- Thin body, clean, low bitterness, crisp, slightly above average carbonation.

Overall- This beer is crisp, light and refreshing. Tropical flavor is listed on the can, but I get an earthy and brett taste instead.

12oz can served in a nonic glass. Canned on 03/26/20.

Look- Hazy golden orange color, a solid off-white head with great lacing. Moderate/light carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Tropical fruit (Pineapple and mango), citrus (tangerine and grapefruit), some nectarine and berry, herbal and floral hops.

Taste- Similar to the aroma, tangy tropical fruit and citrus, grainy malt, a hint of berry with a lightly bitter hop back end.

Feel- Medium bodied, fairly dry and crisp. Moderate carbonation on the tongue.

O- A very nice hazy, there are better out there, but worth giving a shot.

12oz can

Pours nearly two fingers of white head into my can-style glass. Retention is resilient. Initial lacing looks nice as well. Body is orange juice, lots of bubbles coming up. Looks good so far.

Galaxy hops are pretty pronounced here, zesty bitterness, and citrus. Followed by a touch of mango and gooseberries, from presumably the mosaic. Goes through iterations where the galaxy is hardly noticeable, and it comes across quite soft. Does a good job of showcasing all the hops. Unfortunately I’ve done this song and dance before, and you can’t get more generic than citra, mosaic, and galaxy. Good, and boring.

Certainly pick up that galaxy zest, some citrus. Not a whole lot else going on here. I’ll let it warm, but so far somewhat bland.

Mouthfeel is pretty decent. Carbonation is medium-high. Body is on the lighter side. Not all that sweet, but definitely not dry. Bitterness is quite low, obviously not uncommon.

Drinkability is fine. It tastes good for the most part, just not all that hazy.

Appearance turned out nice. Lacing was thick all the way down.

The flavor never really got any bigger, kinda scratching my head here. Drinks more like a regular IPA, and even then I’d still find it a little flavorless.
