Rated 5-28-2023. Pours a golden orange with almost no head and a fair amount of carbonation that also dissipates rather quickly. The aroma is citrus and grain malts. The body is medium, the taste is malt sweetness and mild hop, but no real bitterness or bite. This beer taste kind of strong, but no other signs it is a DIPA. I really liked this beer. Canned 3/27/23.

From a 6-pack picked up at the source in Bend, Oregon
12oz can poured into a Great Lakes snifter

P orange/caramel color w/ a slight haze, just over 1f-worth of off-white head; a good-looking pour
N med to med-bold: an inviting blend of caramel malt, oranges, and pine
T follows nose with pleasant candied orange and pine over caramely malt; finishes w/ light alcohol heat; some sharpness here and there, but very approachable overall; pretty tasty
Mf med to med-full bodied w/ med carb; a touch sticky
O a solid dipa; well-balanced and satisfying- I dig it; would have again

Pours a clear amber with plenty of foam in the snifter. Strong aroma of orange peel, mango, and pine. Lush carbonation with a smooth, substantial mouthfeel. Rather sweet and tastes like candied citrus with some tangy fresh-squeezed juice. Or maybe pineapple-orange juice with a shot of vodka, which actually sounds pretty good with a lemon peel curl. This is rather intense but an excellent DIPA for sipping. I would keep some of this around for such purposes if I see it again. From the 12 oz can purchased up north. Dated 09/13/23.

Exactly Random – from Crux Fermentation Project. Acquired from @muchloveforhops3 in BSBIF #1. Reviewed 08/12/23 (Review 3188). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Stamped on bottom of can, “CANNED ON 09/13/23”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 47.4 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 56.4 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.5
First pour – Pale Straw (SRM 2), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), slight chill haze. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head: Large (Maximum 6.2 cm, aggressive center pour), smoke white, medium density, good retention, dropping to a 1.3 – 2.0 cm crown, and thick, frothy cap. Many tiny pieces of cap remain hanging on the glass.
Lacing – Good. Wide band of tiny to medium bubbles. See also above.
Aroma – 3.75 – Weak grapefruit and a bit dank. No yeast, no malt, no alcohol (8.5 % ABV as marked on the label).
Flavor – 3.75 – Weak grapefruit flavor and dank. No yeast, no malt. None of the promised citrus (other than grapefruit) and no pine. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Weak gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium; watery; soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Dank and a little grapefruity but lacking any other citrus or pine notes as claimed on the label. Alcohol is well hidden. Very inoffensive and highly drinkable.
