The Hudson Valley has become a “must visit” destination for any craft beer lover. And to celebrate the great beer being brewed in the Hudson Valley, 11 of the breweries joined together to create the 1st “Hudson Valley Craft Beer Week” – each brewery made a beer with a local Hudson Valley ingredient, and our beer? Blueberry Brett Mint.
Blueberry Brett Mint is 100% Brettanomyces fermented, with local mint & blueberry juice added to the beer during fermentation. And while the beautiful pink color might make you think “sweet”, this beer is incredibly dry. Subtle notes of blueberry & mint, with a decidedly “funk farmhouse” flavor from the brettanomyces. A touch of bitterness reminiscent of a grapefruit is present at the finish of the beer.
The dryness lends itself to the beer’s overall drinkability, and after your first pint, you’ll surely crave a second. And with each pint, just know you are helping celebrate Hudson Valley craft beer!

16oz sample bottle from the brewery.
Dark rose amber hued brew, tiny bubbled lacing. Brett funk in the nose with blueberry skin and some herbal mint. Smooth with a semi-dry palate. Lots of funk for the tastebuds to take on, blueberry character is dialed down to some skin and tannin, mint is very herbal, and the base is dry and grainy. Fun to try and pretty easy to drink but begs to be paired with.

Good stuff here. I wish it came out early summer. Really drinkable and the balance between tartness and blueberry/mint is well done. You could literally drink this all day. Nothing over the top about this beer but nothing wrong with it either.

I enjoyed this beer a lot. A nice wave of tart blueberry to start, with a slight funk, before the berry fades and the funk transitions into a mint clean flavor which really cleanses the palate. Very slight funk from the Brett, but I like the subtlety of it. Mouth feel is just right, nice and smooth, slightly creamy. Good stuff.
