Pours a murky copper hue. Dominant notes of sweet dark fruits and sherry in the nose. Absolute explosion of flavor on the palette: liquid raisins and figs immersed in a sea of caramel, bready malt, and booze. Rather thick mouthfeel with just the might amount of sludgy syrupiness. A touch of alcohol heat that's to be expected in a beer of this style and size. Very impressed with this beer, by far the best thing I've had from Newburgh.
