High hopes dashed. Hops are way downplayed and the taste was weaker than expected.

A- Tallboy pours into a tulip with a somewhat cloudy golden yellow body and a two finger creamy white head. Good retention and lacing forms at the top wtih thick pillows and plentiful webs below that.
S- Lives up to the name with a ton of hops off the top and a lot of juicy and fruity notes leading the way. Tropical and stone fruits up front with mango, passionfruit and apricot. Dank weed, some orange and grapefruit oils, tangerine and orange juice. Hint at some sweetness and pale crackery grain but all hops here.
T- A bit more citrus flavor and perceived bitterness comes out in the taste but the same general balance applies and it follows up on the aroma nicely. Grapefruit, orange juice, mango, apricot, passionfruit, mint, dank weed, mandirin, tangerine and peach hops lead into crackery, cereal and slightly sweet malts.
MF- Fluffy and frothy texture to the medium body. The carbonation is on the high side and it ends with a clean medium bitterness.
A good take on the New England IPA from some great NY brewers. Juicy as expected and plenty of fruit from the hops.

Tried this at Eli Cannon's in Middletown, CT. Came in a tulip glass with about a quarter inch of head. Didn't leave much lacing behind. The aroma is citrusy and floral. The taste is resinous and citrus peel forward. Ok dipa.

A: Poured from the can (born-on date of 8/27, consumed on 9/20) into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is hazy golden-orange with a half-finger of white head that leaves behind a decent amount of lace.
S: Juicy tropical fruit (think pineapple), a touch of pine and some earthiness that reminds me of Simcoe hops, or maybe Amarillo. Good nose.
T: First impression: kind of a "cleaner" little brother of Juice Bomb. Tropical fruity hops (modest pineapple) up front is followed by surprisingly bitter lingering piney hops.
M: A little on the thin side in feel. Feels more like a traditional IPA than a New England IPA.
O: Solid stuff, just not as good as Juice Bomb.

If they were trying to take Juice Bomb and just make it way less flavorful, they succeeded. Low bitterness is virtually all that makes this a “NEIPA.” All in all, a muted, rather boring IPA.
