And now, I embark on yet CANother brewery horizontal as a part of The CANQuest (tm)! It's all very exciting.
From the CAN: "Hazy and Juicy"; "Sup Penn"; "Welcome to Pennsylvania"; "Shangy's The Beer Authority Freshie Project"; "Putting the PA in NEIPA"; "Holla at ya Pennsylvania! We brewed this hazy, juicy NEIPA just for you. Thanks for having us!"; "Exclusively for Pennsylvania".
"Sup Penn"?!? Say that & be ignored! We are "P-A!" That's it. This is the seCANd PA exclusive of which I am aware, the other being Henniker's Wurst Bier. Impressive that our case law (now relaxed) STILL leads to both exclusives & some of the best distro in the country. We are very attractive in that the minimum sale (at the distributor level) is a case! Now, it CAN be broken down as far as singles, but still … Plus, we tend to drink alcohol at a furious rate. J/S.
I CANducted some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing the vent since I wanted this to be the BEST PABoss that it CAN possibly be. I then allowed it some calming time before engaging in a Crack! of the vent, followed by a heavy-handed C-Line Glug. Hey, you invoke The Great & Mighty CANmonwealth of PA, you had best be bringing it! I was suitably impressed by its quick creation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with very good retention. Color was a cloudy, turbid Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was unlike the previous Bosses in that it was kind of an amalgam of the previous Bosses with notes of grapefruit & mango, but there was also a berry-like sweetness embedded in this one. 8=O Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but closer than the previous one. The taste was impressive with grapefruit leading the way (as usual), followed by guava/mango, but bringing up the rear was my late-paternal grandmother's red raspberries! 8=O How did they do this?!? It was this last that cut/held the bitterness in check. I am a hophead, but these Bosses were starting to take their toll on my palate. Phew. This one provided some welcome relief in that regard. I would be VERY curious to know what hops were used & at which stage. Finish was hoppy & dry, but quite palatable. I CAN't say that I would want a steady diet of it, but it was PA-worthy, IMHO. YMMV.
I did some in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing the vent to ensure that any flocculate was back in suspension. CAN't have an NEIPA without haze, right? I gave it an aggro C-Line Glug

Poured into a 13 oz Teku glass not sure when it was canned but I always trust @jzeilinger to send it fresh. Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves thin wisps of lace. 4
Smell is mango, melon, passion fruit, some hints of clove, and a little grapefruit rind. 3.75
Taste follows mango, melon, some clove, passion fruit, and grapefruit. 3.75
Mouthfeel is about medium, rather soft but a little dry, and at 7% easy enough drinking. 3.75
Overall this is pretty solid, but missing that true NEIPA feel. 3.75

A - Hazy medium orange pour with thick and frothy white lacing and foam that clings to the sides of the glass.
S - Tangerine / nectarine, and juicy citrus.
T - Juicy citrus, nectarine, red grapefruit, and finishes more on the bitter side while leaving coating of juicy resin on the palate.
M - Big medium to full bodied with a silky texture and small prickly carbonation.
O - This was a good find. Very solid and get 'em now while they're fresh.
