I am back to dedicating my time to garnering & closing out the "Better Together" Untappd badge which is awarded in increments of five (5). That is to say, for every five unique collab beers that I check into, I am awarded one (1) badge level. It closes out at Level 100 or 500 unique collab beers. Right now, I am at 484 with this one as 485. I dedicate these next few beers & reviews to Boss-man @Todd since that is how I have referred to him since we first met. This Boss is for you, Boss-man!
From the CAN: "[2019] Boss Collaboration Series #21"; "Newburgh Brewing Company and Friends"; "Proudly Brewed & CANned by Newburgh Brewing Company Newburgh, NY, U.S.A."; "Community Beer Works"; "Brewed with Heart"; "Fresh Grapes Tropical Hops"; "Drink Local".
Curiouser & curiouser, I thought to myself as I ventured deeper into this Newburgh rabbit hole,
Crack!ing open the vent to begin a slow, gentle C-Line Glug. I was mostly successful in that I got just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention for my troubles. Unfortunately, the beer's Yellow-Golden color (SRM = 4 - 5) was just oh-so-slightly hazy. 8=( Nose had a white wine fruity vinousness of grapes, CANtaloupe, honeydew, peach & apricot along with a Belgian yeast mustiness. 8=O Some of these collabs are SO curious! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was entirely like white wine meets Orval's yeast strain - fruity and musty as noted on the nose. OMFG! What a Boss idea to have made something like this. Finish was entirely dry, again very vinous. I would have like a bit more bitterness, but that is a personal bugaboo. YMMV.
