Freshie tall can (dated 4/19/22) procured at Captain Lawrence in Elmsford this afternoon.
Lighter honey hued pour, with a moderate haze level. Leaves medium sized and lasting cap and then a bunch of fine bubble lace and fields of sheeting.
Mild honey and grass filled sniff.
Tasty and enjoyable brew, more honey and some grassiness, light resiny hops in the finish, sort of a west coast/east coast/ NEIPA hybrid kinda concoction....I like it...well worth a try

I was very happy to spot this CAN at Monde Market in Philly during my latest visit & promptly scooped it up for inCANsion in The CANQuest (tm). I have always enjoyed these CANlaborations from Newburgh & CAPT Lawrence is already a proven winner.
From the CAN: "Newburgh Brewing Company & Friends"; "Captain Boss India Pale Ale"; "This Boss is dreaming of Fresh Powder and Hops"; "Brewed with Heart [-] Newburgh Brewing Company collaboration with Captain Lawrence Brewing Company"; "This beer was born here[:] Newburgh".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I quickly realized that I had made an error in my add since it was unclearly an NEIPA. Oops! I then allowed it to run more freely since clarity was not a CANcern. This resulted in the formation ofjust under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, eggshell-white head with modest retention. Color was a turbid, murky Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose held a pronounced tropical fruitiness. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was MUCH better than the nose had suggested. It had a grapefruit bitterness, a pine mintiness & the tropical fruitiness that I noted on the nose. It was like turn of the century meets seCANd decade! We have gone from PNW-hop driven AIPAs in the late-90s/early-century to southern hemisphere hops & now are CANming full circle with a blend of both. This was a great example of a blending of variegated hops to create a bridge of flavors. Finish was semi-dry to dry, just right for a collab. YMMV.
