Galaxy hopped IPA with Nelson Sauvin dry hop. Probably, what Jesus tears taste like.

Since the beginning of time we have dreamed about making an IPA with Nelson Sauvin. To craft a beverage so Devine, that once it touches the lips, it feels soooo good.

Had it on tap into a pint glass. Beautiful white head and lacing. Citrusy smell and taste. Grapefruit, orange, lemon and tangerines. Very pleasant. It was recommended after Yellow Rose was gone and it was a great substitute!

Enjoyed, but not as much as fresh Cali Green or Prestige. I expected more NE character but it was very much like a good West Coast.

Pours a clear amber color with a finger width foamy head. Retenion is decent. Lacing is great. Nice piney hop with grapefruit. Fresh aroma. Fresh hop forward taste with nice grapefruit tartness. I really like this beer. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

I see where they are going with this, but it doesnt get there. Smell is nice dry hops, but flavor has huge issues. Very grassy and not in a good way, like rotting grass. And for the very low malt character of this, it is rather bitter. Good, but not great

Poured on draught into a pint glass. Appearance is light copper in color, hazy and opaque. Head is two fingers thick with excellent retention. Flavors are very dank and juicy with grapefruit pith, mango and pine notes. This is an excellent ipa, but it may be slightly over hopped. However, the hop flavor is excellent, so I cannot complain.

On tap at The Flying Sauce, downtown Houston.

A: Pours a slightly hazed golden/orange color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and excellent lace all the way down the glass.
S: Citrus, fruity, almost grape like up front with some berry aromas. Very dank as well, which leads to a bit of a vegetal, and very green tea like aroma. Not bad at all, and very interesting.
T: Some citrus fruits up front, lightly dank. Then an almost overwhelming vegetal flavor takes over. Green veggies, and slightly green tea leaf like. Bitterness lingers as well, which then becomes the show.
M/O: A medium to full body. Firm and crisp carbonation, and smooth at the same time. The vegetal character and lingering bitterness makes this a slow sipper for me. More of a one and done.

An interesting attempt, and I have had my ups and downs with Nelson Sauvin hops. This seems a little too green and vegetal for me, not to mention the characteristic lingering bitterness from Brash. I did enjoy my pint, vegetal flavor and all. Though, just not something I would want to come back to often. More interesting than actually good.

Excellent beer. Tons of fruity notes. Berries. Tropical fruit. Pallate follows suite. A ton of mango, pineapple, citrusy fruit. Nice clean crisp mouthfeel.

The Sauce. Very much a session with great full body hops flavor. (obvious amateur reviewer)
