Five Mexican-themed ingredients come together for a party in this Cork and Cage release. The “Party of Five” incorporates agave syrup and lime peel. It was fermented with traditional Mexican lager yeast then aged in a tequila barrel for four months. This ale matured an additional month on prickly pear cactus fruit and was finished with lime peel. Fiesta de Cinco has a brilliant red hue, fruity aroma, finishes dry yet is sweet with watermelon and tequila notes.

Poured from a bomber into a snifter at the Brew Pub in State College.
L: Pours a semi-transparent deep reddish amber color. No significant head.
S: Mild aroma... faint notes of tequila and lime. Fruity, likely from the prickly pear.
T/F: Starts off semi-sweet and fruity... again, likely from the prickly pear (supposedly aged over fruit and tequila). Complex flavors with the lime... almost a melon type taste. The finish is clean and that's where you can best taste the tequila. Nice alcoholic warmth and low to moderate carbonation.
O: A very nice effort from Otto's and the tequila really works well with the fruitiness of the beer. They got the carbonation issue straightened out, and it's definitely one to sample while it's available. I wouldn't want a steady diet of it, but this will easily fill a session.
