As per the brewery: "Early summer yields the first fig crop, or Breba crop. Belgian candi syrup and over 33 lbs. of figs per barrel were added to wheat wort and fermented with Biere de Garde yeast: Breba has a cloudy, amber appearance and spicy aroma with very flavorful raison-like and farmhouse notes. You may notice fig seeds in your glass, but hey, it's made with bits of real fig, so you know it's good!".
Part of Otto's Cork & Cage series (brewery only). Poured from a bomber into a snifter.
L: Poured a semi-opaque deep mahogany color. Two fingers of off-white head falls rapidly. Minimal lacing.
S: Candy sugar and dark fruits. Toasted grains and Belgian yeast.
T/F: Rich and malty. Dark fruits with figs and raisins. Brown sugar and molasses. Nice complexity with the Belgian yeast which gives it a bit of spice. Flavor becomes more robust at room temperature. Nice alcoholic warmth. A bit sticky on the mouthfeel.
O: Another nice Cork & Cage creation. Love the dark fruit flavor of the figs matched with the Belgian yeast. Definitely a commitment to drink a bomber. Would be great to share.
