Part of Otto's 'Cork and Cage' series.
As per the brewery description "You drink from the blue or red bottle, the story ends. You leave Otto's and believe whatever you want to believe. You drink from this brown bottle, you stay in wonderland, and we show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. A chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla matrix consisting of cacao nibs, 33 pounds per barrel of strawberries, Madagascar vanilla beans. Belgian Candi syrup, and lactose transform this stout from the real world to the dream world. Ask for me, my name is... Neo."
Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass at the brewpub.
L: Pours a dark, dark, brown... nearly black. Thin tannish head with no discernible lacing.
S: Roasted malts, chocolate and strawberries... hints of vanilla. Very nice and rich.
T/F: Semi-sweet roasted malts... not overly sweet for a milk stout. Nice background flavors of cocoa nibs and strawberries.... faint vanilla gives it an almost barrel flavor. Carbonated... not too thick.
O: A very nice milk stout with a lot going on... and I was surprised at how well the strawberry and chocolate worked with the style. Otto's Cork and Cage brews are always interesting and this one was quite tasty. Definitely one that I will revisit while it lasts.
