On cask at Otto's on 4/5/08.

A - Hazy orange body with creamy, off-white head that produced plenty of sticky lacing. Very attractive cask brew!

S - Piney and citrus hops balanced with sweet caramel malts and a bit of breadiness. Nose is very similar to Troegs Nugget Nectar.

T - Piney hops with some citrus twang balanced by sweet and bready malts. Finish is quite bready with a nice hop bite.

M - A litle thin and watery, albeit quite smooth and silky. Moderate bitter finish produces some sticky hop residue on the tongue.

D - Very tasty cask ale. Love the nugget hops! I'll have more on my next visit if it's still on.

Poured via handpump at the brewpub.

Pours a clear, golden amber with a finger of creamy off-white head that retains into a thin layer that leaves just MASSIVE rings of hop lace down the sides of the glass. The aroma of, those oh so familiar, Nugget hops greet the nose. The fresh herbal hops and grapefruit citrus tones that remind me so much of another PA beer.

The taste has a bite of hop bitterness and zesty citrus notes up front that are backed by some silky sweetness behind it. It finishes with a pleasant combo of bitterness and sweet character. The mouthfeel is light bodied but still creamy and immensely drinkable.

Wow, this is like Nugget Nectar Light, possessing those fantastic Nugget characteristics while being a little more toned down, light bodied and quaffable. This is another winner from the Arthur's Pale Ales series they are running. Good stuff!

A-Bright clear copper with a nice medium white cask offering head.

S-Hoppy goodness with grass and slight peppery tones. A bready malt scent assists in the aroma. Not overly aromatic.

T-Nice up front hop bitterness with a pleasant malty smoothness that gives the hops a lovely vehicle. Very nice.

M-Medium body. On cask so it has that nice creamy quality-but sharp and crsip enough to make it interestiing.

D-Totally solid. Another single hop hit by Charlie. Very nice session brew. This one is good but not better than the Amarillo offering.

A hand-pulled cask serving at the brewpub in State College.

A: The ale has a bright amber orange, more orange than brown, color, clear with no sign of sediment. The head neared a finger and had the compact look of a nice cask offering.

S: The nose is grassy hops, oily but restrained. The hops never completely overwhelm the scent receptors. A grainy malt flavor assists in keeping the hops in check.

T: The ale is Nugget Nectar lite. Light in the sense that the hops never overtake the flavor. They are grassy, herbal with a great citrus kick. They are met, even equalled by the grainy biscuit malt flavors. The pairing of the two allows the hops to stand out without knocking the alcohol too high or making the flavor too intense.

M: The nugget hops can not be silenced. They make themselves known without ruining the taste buds. The cask pull has added a softer flavor, reigning in the bitterness.

D: This is as session as a beer gets. The hop bite without the alcohol is great. I am anxious to try a few more of these one hop pale ales.
