Part of Otto's Cork'n'Cage series. Brewery only poured into a tulip. As per the brewery, "Double D aged in Tequila barrel for 4 years and fermented with Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus. It is then dry hopped and bottle conditioned for an additional 7 months"
L: Cloudy dark golden brown pour with thin fizzy head. Falls fast.. minimal lacing.
S: Tequila, brett, and leather. It smells kind of like grandpa got into the patron and had himself a night.
T.F: Tart and funky... strong tequila and barrel character. Old leather, oak, and barnyard. The underlying DIPA is very muted with some residual hop flavor. Some grains, fruit, and sweetness to go with the tart. Certainly not sour. Medium bodied... a bit astringent.
O: An interesting offer from Otto's. Not one that's going to be a favorite, but I like what they tried here.
