DATE: January 15, 2023... OCCASION: remembering the holiday season that was with Otto's fine seasonal, care of brother Jer!... GLASSWARE: Schneider weisen pokal... pours a lively, fresh chestnut-brown body sporting thick bubbles that build a pillowy, two-fingered, off-white head... attractive... caramel, apple, lactic cream, candied fruits, doughy bread malts, and a piquant cinnamon and nutmeg evokes a dessert-like aroma.... its first sips is creamier than expected, spiking with effervescence at the throat, medium-bodied, with the smooth lagerish constitution inviting the next sip readily... a bit buttery as well, soft and sweet... speaking of sweet, the apple, caramel and baked malts, decorative sugars, and lactose nail the attempt, putting a holiday dessert in a glass... vanilla and cinnamon put a really nice touch on its finish... Otto's does so much right that I am not surprised this iteration of their tradition of mixing up their winter warmers is winning...
