Reminiscent of pumpkin pie in a glass, this ale was brewed with real pumpkin in the mash, and spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice.

DATE: January 12, 2024... OCCASION: one of the many treasures Jer gifted me with this past Christmas... GLASSWARE: Orioles mug... pours a robust, muddy brown with active bubbles that build a reasonable, fizzy quarter-fingered, off-white head... its crackling is aesthetically pleasing, if sound were a criteria.... cinnamon and nutmeg, yes, with subtler scents of vanilla, pastry dough, and lactose cream... its other attributes soften, rendering the ginger, allspice, and tea leaf light and airy... this succeeds in its body, a solid yet soft mouthfeel that drinks easily but fills appreciably... it lingers in the throat like something of a lactic lager... a dessert-like effect, which leads to its taste: the spices are pleasant, worth mulling, and balanced--nothing competing for air time, the cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg seem to work over a brown sugar base, while the ginger sweetens things without making it peppery... although its softened flavor won't earn it high marks, this is a solid beer perhaps more suited for fall evenings, but not entirely out of place on a cold winter night.
