Served on tap in a 12 oz chalice glass

Appearance – Served a hazy orange colored beer with a one finger white head. The head faded within a couple of minutes to leave a light to medium level of lacing.

Smell – There is a strong citrus aroma in this one. Big aromas of sweet tangerine and orange are heaviest. These are mixed with some lemon and a good dose of grapefruit citrus. With the strong citrus are some notes of a yeasty as well as wheaty nature, which act as a nice balance to the quite sweet and potent citrus.

Taste - The taste follows the nose quite well. It starts out with citrus sweetness of tangerine mixed with some mango as well as some wheat bread. Quickly some yeasty flavors come to the tongue and when combined with the initial flavors give a classic sweeter Belgian IPA flavor. Soon after the yeast flavor arrives, a huge grapefruit flavor comes to the tongue, which dominates the taste and takes it to its end; leaving a quite bitter grapefruit citrus flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel - The body of the beer is on the slightly thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the average to slightly above average side. Quite appropriate for the style and coupled with its flavor hiding the alcohol of 10 % quite well, it is very drinkable.

Overall – A nice citrusy Belgian IPA. While a little one dimensional in terms of its hop flavors ( huge in citrus) it is complimented nicely by some nice sweet, bready and yeasty flavors; which overall, even at 10 % abv make for a easy drinking and somewhat refreshing brew.
