Hey Excelsior is a cool little lake town . I feel like im at the shore /key west/cape cod. The brewery is on Water Street , Walking in front door there is a stage to the right for live music . Then ahead is the very small bar and ordering place . They have about 10 beers on tap with flights available. . A few scattered seat inside with the brewery tanks visible and open in the rear , a nice patio is to the left with way more seating . I get a cool vibe from this place its laid back . No food on premise , they do have a cooler full of beer to go with many styles at 6 12oz cans for $12. Overall a fun brewery with a parking lot that fills up quickly as it services the downtown shops/ restaurants.

A very popular spot right off a major bicycling trail in a mixed residential/business area in downtown Excelsior. Fairly busy all the time. Has a nice little stage for live music (I've played there numerous times), decent beers with usually 5 or 6 on taps. Med-small room, bright, concrete floor, open ceiling with duct work, has a patio, dog & kid friendly. Most brewing equipment is in the back which is essentially off limits to the public but they'd happily give ya a short tour. Some low tables, board games, a ring & hook game, a small serving area and you're always in and around the brewing tanks/equipment. Rear parking lot and street parking. No food but they encourage people to bring in whatever they want to eat. Big wall of merch for sale including bicycle jerseys. Friendly staff, good beers, easy to find, easy to have a few brews. Their bottled beers can be found across the twin cities metro. It's a good place to go. Have pints or fill growlers.

Excelsior is a fantastic little town a 30 minute (or so) drive from the metro, though it can get a little too busy in the summer for my taste, but I'm not really a fan of most of the beers I've tried from these guys, so... I'd never actually gone to the brewery. Stopped in recently though, while out at the lake, one very cold October afternoon, though, and I really enjoyed the vibe, and the staff was cool. The beer was decent. I think it helped (from my perspective) that it just happened to be pretty quiet and low-key that afternoon.

Excelsior is a very appropriate brewery for its location. Much like the atmosphere during the summer on Lake Minnetonka, this place feels like one big party. The place is always packed and their taproom has a large space with a welcoming feel. There are several tvs and they have a nice patio. They regularly have high quality bands and other events. Their beer befuddles me. It does seem to be getting better, but for the most part, it really does not excite me. I have had solid beers but nothing more. They sell many of their blonde which is not surprising when seeing their clientele. Overall, it's a fun place to be and the beer is alright as well.

Visited on a hopping Friday night. No wait for the growler fill/tap beer. Solid selection, although we only tried a few (many more previously). We tried the Belgian Quad and Double Up Imperial Black IPA - both were excellent, although the quad should really be a Dubbel.

Nice vibe to this place, I ended up going here after purchasing a Groupon for a couple of growlers and pints. The selection was a bit limited on my one visit and the place is quite small for the Saturday crowd that showed up. Decent beers and I will probably return at some point to refill my growlers.
