At first I thought it was pretty low alcohol, but in fact it's just pretty well concealed. But since it's been colder than frozen dog-doo, tis the season for stouts. And this one has lots of stout-y properties. A fair bit of dark fruitiness, with toasty and roasted, and a touch of burnt. Definitely worth a shot on a cold winter's night.

On tap 4/11/18 at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub in Mount Horeb, WI. Review from notes. 8.4% ABV. Appears somewhat transparent brown with a small sized head. Smells and tastes of mostly caramel and roasted malt with some licorice and earthy hops. Light sweetness and moderate bitterness/dryness. No noticeable alcohol. Below average body and above average carbonation for the style. Overall, it’s decent for a session stout with a nice caramel/roasted malt profile.
