We aged our Imperial Stout in a beautiful Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrel for about 17 months.

On tap 11/20/18 at the Grumpy Troll Brew Pub in Mount Horeb, WI. Review from notes. Appears mostly black with a small head. Smells/tastes of oak, barrel, cocoa, and a hint of char. Fairly bitter and little dry. No noticeable alcohol comes though. High carbonation and below average body for the style. Overall, the base beer is a little too straightforward, but it has a nice barrel presence.
