"American styled India Pale Ale with 10 additions of hops in fermentation for 10 days! Spicy, floral, and outstanding! Created by Grumpy Troll Challenge Winner Dave Romain."
This was the surprise hit of a recent visit to the Grumpy Troll.
Pint arrived with a finger of foam on it, some nice lacing on the sides. Retention was good too, as the head remained for the whole pint. Aroma was grassy and floral, some light citrus in the back, making me think Cascades. Really fresh, which made it nice to sniff before almost every sip.
Good level of bitterness, there was also an ample level of hop flavor, which isn't always the case with brewpub IPAs. Mostly floral, grassy, citrus again in the taste. Light lingering hop bitterness in the aftertaste. The only knock I have was a slight presence of diacetyl, giving it a slippery feel. It was most refreshing, and didn't last long. Recommended.
