Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a half finger’s worth of white foamy head. Slowly fades to leave some sly messy lace. The aroma had some bitter coffee beans and a touch of some salt/damp vinegary - slightly like brine and a touch of roasted malt. The flavor blended the roast and bitter to the salty/brininess. Bitter to roasty sort of aftertaste with barely any saltiness. Lots of coffee in the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with more of a sipping quality about it. ABV felt appropriate. Bitterness and saltiness impound my tongue to keep this one from being any sort of session. Overall, nice to try but more of a once and done sort of thing, at least by this brewer.
