Fall is a beautiful time in Montauk. The leaves change color, the air cools off, the traffic thins, and the beaches clear out. Montauk Pumpkin Ale is a sign of the season - just the right amount of spices along with subtle hop aromas, this beer highlights the time of year just perfectly.

Clear deep orange-amber, with just under one finger of light tan head.
Smells just like pumpkin pie , without the overwhelming spice cabinet thing of so many pumpkin beers. I like it! :)
Taste is nutmeg, allspice, clove, lingering burnt cinnamon, a bit of toffee and caramel, and a hint of cooked pumpkin.
Feel is light-medium, smooth, slightly slick, with moderate , very fine, lightly-sharp carbonation tingle. Slight drying after finish.
Overall, fairly pleasant, and easy-drinking. Wish the pumpkin pie flavor , present in the aroma, was more prominent than the spices themselves. That said, it's one of the better pumpkin ales I've had.

The pour is copper colored. The taste is smooth pumpkin flavor & mild spices. This was a pretty easy going pumpkin ale. Cheers! B

Looks alright and smells kind of weak, but it really does taste like a slice of pumpkin pie. The spices were mild and acted as just accents, which to me is perfect. Not my favorite style but a decent brew.

I don't like most pumpkin ales, but I have an annual tradition of trying one anyway to see if someone can get it right. This is my favorite one so far. The sweetness isn't overwhelming, the pumpkin spice flavor actually feels like it fits nicely, and it has a light mouthfeel and low ABV but a bold flavor. I think this is the first time I've said this about a pumpkin ale: I would buy this again.

Nice pumpkin tint on the pour with minimal head and lacing. Smooth pumpkin flavor with spicy finish. A very good brew!

Look: Pours a copper orange-brown color with a one finger, beige head of foam that laces the glass well.
Aroma: Nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, graham cracker and pumpkin puree. Mild cranberry.
Taste: Malt driven, but well balanced. Spice profile is restrained, although apparent, not over the top. Graham crackery, caramel malt, toffee and cinnamon upfront, with hints of ginger and fruity cranberry on the tail end. A dry, pumpkin spice like flavor lingers throughout, without taking over the experience or tasting artificial.
Feel: Supple. Mid-weight, low carb. Not sessionable due to the spice, but refreshing to some extent.
Overall: Better than I had anticipated. I tend to like lighter styles of pumpkin ale as opposed to heavy, desert oriented versions of the style. This one strikes a middle ground between the two, the flavor is rich, without being cloying and the mouthfeel is light without being watery.
