Very Good
Notes: Fall is a beautiful time in Montauk. The leaves change color, the air cools off, the traffic thins, and the beaches clear out. Montauk Pumpkin Ale is a sign of the season - just the right amount of spices along with subtle hop aromas, this beer highlights the time of year just perfectly.

Look: Pours a copper orange-brown color with a one finger, beige head of foam that laces the glass well.

Aroma: Nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, graham cracker and pumpkin puree. Mild cranberry.

Taste: Malt driven, but well balanced. Spice profile is restrained, although apparent, not over the top. Graham crackery, caramel malt, toffee and cinnamon upfront, with hints of ginger and fruity cranberry on the tail end. A dry, pumpkin spice like flavor lingers throughout, without taking over the experience or tasting artificial.

Feel: Supple. Mid-weight, low carb. Not sessionable due to the spice, but refreshing to some extent.

Overall: Better than I had anticipated. I tend to like lighter styles of pumpkin ale as opposed to heavy, desert oriented versions of the style. This one strikes a middle ground between the two, the flavor is rich, without being cloying and the mouthfeel is light without being watery.

Had it last year, and apparently it made an impression because I revisited it again.

A: Sunset amber mix of orange and cinnamon.

S: Pie crust, spices and sugar pumpkin baked with cream.

M: Crisp beginnings, smooth body, med-light feel.

T: Spicing is strong, rich, deep...ginger and allspice, cinnamon heat, and reminiscent of a wibeer wassail. Blend of tumeric and vanilla roobois. The pumpin ends up tasting light and sweet, but is also slightly vegetal. Just enough so as it's firmly on the pie end of the spectrum.

Poured from a 12oz can into a montauk pumpkin shaker pint.

Look is a clear dark amber with a head that dissipates quickly.

Aroma is amber malt with a light spice.

Malt disappears behind heavy slicing, lots of nutmeg and a little cinnamon.

This is the beer of the fall season for me. After my first one, I made sure I had enough to last me through Thanksgiving. Montauk really scored a bullseye here. 'metter98' described the beer perfectly and objectively, so I won't go into details. It has a beautiful coppery tone and the taste follows the bouquet closely. Not to sweet and not too dry, nice spice, and a reasonably low ABV, 5.7, make it a winner for me. I will say that this is one of the few beers that lives up to its name and makes me demand more. I generally have one beer a day and lately this is the one I've been going to everyday for the last couple weeks. Went through three six packs and have four left. I was able to find it at Target of all places. Delicious!

Taste like a Pumking light (not a bad thing). It just has less alcohol than PK is all. Pumking is 8.6% while Montauk Pumpkin Ale is 5.7% alc./vol. That being said it doesn't take away from the pumpkin spice taste which is also a bit of sweet flavor. I highly recommend this pumpkin ale if you're a fan of Pumking. More bang for your buck with Montauk as PK can be a bit pricey. Yeah they balanced this ale out just right!! Pleasant tasting beer for pumpkin fans and Autumn season lovers. Enjoy! & Cheers!!

A: The beer is clear dark coppery orange in color and has a light to moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of pumpkins are present in the nose along with subtle notes of pumpkin spices.
T: The taste follows the smell, having pumpkin flavors front and center with strong accompanying notes of pumpkin spices.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be very balance—both between the pumpkins and the spices and also among the pumpkin spices because it was difficult to really pick out any one spice in particular as they all seemed to mesh together in unison.
