My sister and her husband are here from California for the holidays and we are putting away the beer with everyone at my parent's house so I picked up some reinforcements when I returned the empties for deposit. This is the first of the reinforcements. Really nice mellow lupulin flavors are the highlight here, with a light texture and little bitterness or malt. Solid flavor for the style as a session IPA.

It looked decent (hazy) and smelled of lemon zest, biscuit and grassy hops, but the feel was on the flat and watery side with little to no carbonation and zero bitterness. Tastes like biscuit, lemon zest, orange peel, faint caramel, grapefruit and citrus notes. Definitely an easy drinking session IPA.

Had this on tap yesterday up in at T.F. Noonan's in Pearl River, New York as I had never seen or heard of Montauk before. This was one of the few beers on tap with under 5.0% ABV and for a muggy summer day, this fit the bill although it wasn't outstanding in any particular way and it was only when I looked it up on here that I was surprised to find out that it was a New England IPA!
This had a very plain, off-golden hue to it that reminded me of a Hefeweizen although it clearly wasn't. An even amount of head topped this off as this was the first tap beer that I reviewed on here in quite some time, and it showed! The lacing left behind was minimal as well as the aroma which was light and perfect for a muggy day full of passing showers. A bit of orange and elderflower was in it as those were just as present in the taste. Not too tangy, a bit floral, and just balanced enough, this was not a typical New England IPA but it hit the spot for a late afternoon as the carbonation wasn't enough to scrub the flavors away either.
Of course, this was one of the few session beers of this style that I've had and it was a bit different than what I was accustomed to. There wasn't anything wrong with this beer but for a neighborhood pub such as this, it was fitting and would probably be nice to take to the beach as well. Glad to relax with this!

12 oz can with Best Before End of "19 Aug 21" dating stamped on the bottom.
Very respectably hazed up pour and leaves nicea nice looking fine bubble film and some law scattered lacing.
Oranges and ripe pineapple upon the sniff.
More of the same on the palate, this is summery fresh, fruity and quite sessionable.
Better then decent every day NEIPA, from this mid sized operation on Long Island

Pours a bright hazy straw color with a fluffy white head that quickly dissipated into a sparse cap.
The aroma is of nice juicy hops. Orange and grapefruit seem to be forefront. Perhaps a touch of peppery basil.
The taste is of a light grainy malt bill. The hops a fairly muted. Light orange flavors, perhaps some grapefruit.
The feel is light on the palate with plenty of fizzy carbonation. Well balanced, neither sweet nor bitter. Finishes without much flavor.
A session NEIPA. Quite drinkable, no off flavors. Crushable.
