malty sweet, honey, doughy, biscuity, spicy. you are hit with a good level of bitterness just as you are about to be overwhelmed by its sweet nature. Good, solid, would drink again

Appearance: blah blah, looks like a German Pils,... striking golden yellow, clearer than water, bubbles still coming up from nucleation points.

Aroma: The best of the bunch so far. Really biscuit-toasty sweet Pils malt, strongly very aromatic, the most Pils malt aroma I've had in this series.

Flavor:
Up front: A very nice and round Noble hop bitterness, a sweet/tart mix.
Middle: More bitterness from hops and very sweet Pils malt flavors on the sides, quite strong toast and cracker sweetness but also tartness/acidity.
Back: Here I really feel the Pils malt sweetness take over powerfully, with a mild bitterness and light tart quality intermixed.
Aftertaste: Basically the same as the back taste - Pils malt sweetness galore with light tartness and bitterness thrown in.

Overall: Close to a WOW beer. Very subtle mix of the above mentioned flavors, much stronger than all other beers, though. It not a huge standout from the ones before, but it's noticeably better in the intensity of the flavors, especially the Pils malt sweetness, which is balanced wonderfully with a bitter and tartness that makes it extremely süffig. A 4.5 or 4.7 of 5.

A: Pour is clear golden with a white medium-tall head, a bit soapy and uneven. Decent lacings.

S: Dry malt, crisp. Rich bitter hops. Bready - Swedish crisp-rye-bread. Nettles and fresh grass.

T: Follows the smell; rich breadyness, almost a bit creamy. Complemented by the bitter hops.

M: Aftertaste is mild bitter, but not that long. Body is medium and carbonation rich but very smooth.

O: Nice, but I'd like a little more bitterness in my German Pilseners...

500ml bottle

A- Light golden colour, perfect see through. Small and not much consistent, though nice looking, white head

S- Low on malts (just a hint of sweetness), a crisp and grassy hop aroma is dominant

T- Grainy malts up-front to bring sweetness. A gentle hop bitterness develops on the back of the tongue and on the palate, but it is not bringing much flavour besides a vague grassy feel

M- Light body, carbonation is actually quite low. The mouthfeel is overall very dry and crisp

O- A drinkable, refreshing and very simple beer. Quite boring. The perfect average score is fitting very well

I used to get this all the time when I was drinking at the Atrium in downtown Bamberg and I still like this beer.
It is a good clean beer all around the appearance the smell and the head. It has a clear golden color with small streams of tiny bubbles leading to the top. It has wonderful white head and lace but the head does not stick around long. It has little bit of bitter sweetness that is very easy on the hops in the taste. The taste and the aroma are grainy and dry grass like. It has a thin mouthfeel and is very refreshing.

Tasted in a small side street bar on tap in Nuremberg Germany(HerrenKeller) where they serve three of the St Georgebrau beers, Sept 2006. Served in tall glass, good tight frothy head, dry and crisp sharp aroma. Taste is reflected in this, very dry and crisp, sharp almost, but with some depth of flavours, little malts, more hoppy and bitter in the finish. It was maybe a little over carbonated for my taste, which added to the sharp texture of the beer, but it was still enjoyable, and certainly so on a hot summers day. Good example of the style and recommended. Not tried in a bottle, so cannot compare it to that 'on tap.'

Golden hue, clean and trasparen. Beautiful head hat, white and compact.
The smell is very delicate, with predominance of the hoppy notes (maybe not very fresh).
At the taste is average in bitterness, with a decent malty structure behind.
Medium body, quite good for the style.
A sharp bitterness in the aftertaste, with an average duration.
A good average pils.
