De Labirratorium. En vaso hefe de Bavaria. Viendo Maestros de la Costura con Asun. Notas del estilo bien implementadas y feel espectacular: llena la garganta, la masajea con amargor muy bien ajustado y anima a trago largo

Pours a lightly hazed golden yellow color with a noisy head, receeding to a thick layer of lacing.
Smells of estery yeast, unripe banana and lime zest, together with bread dough and lots of wheat.
Has a light and well carbonated body to it, creating a truly refreshing drinking experience.
Tastes of wet grass, caramel, rustic wheat and a mineralic stone quality. Turns a tad watery after the swallow, with a more accentuated malt sweetness to it. Finishes a little more complex, with prevailing grains, a decent lime bitterness and sweet malts.
Drinking this on a really hot summer day I have to say this is lovely. This drinks clean and refreshing, simple and effective.

500ml bottle. Weizen glass.Enjoyed on apr´13. Pale gold, foggy appearance. White froth, close, with fairly good retention but thin crown. Aroma profile includes herbal hues, subtle bready notes, slight clove, cinnamon & spices. Flavors as expected from aromas. Medium body. Moderate carbonation.Oily to watery texture. Clean bitterness & banana hints in the middle linger into a malt tendency finish.

Got this at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam.
From a bottle into a weizen glass.
APPEARANCE: Pours a 2 ½ finger medium-thin looking fluffy white head with lots of snap, crackle and pop sounds everywhere. Very loud and noisy beer. Medium-high carbonation, gamboge orange and opaque. Head snaps and pops, fading slowly to a decent foam head. Only a ring remains around the edges leaving no lacing.
SMELL: Decent nose of wheat malt and cloves, with touches of banana in the background. A slight hint of bread in there as well. Quite nice and bold, especially for the ABV. Not bad.
TASTE: A little disappointing. Lacking up front for sure. Some wheat malt and then some sour-dough bread with lemon and a touch of cloves. The malt is pretty sweet here as well, creating a kind of sweet-sour thing. The sweet-sour aftertaste is relatively strong and long lasting, and includes a quite a bit of bready flavours as well. It's a little too sweet-sour with too much bread for my liking.
PALATE: Medium-thinner body and slightly watery. Not creamy enough. Goes down fine and finishes relatively dry on the palate, but it's bordering on being too astringent. This part is lacking as well.
OVERALL: This one just wasn't quite right. It certainly smelt great, which sparked my interests of course, but the taste and mouthfeel just didn't deliver. It's too sweet-sour and bready for my tastes, and the feel just can't compete with the other great weizen out there. I'd pass on this one.

This is another I used to get in Bamberg back in the day at the Atrium AKA the mall. It is a hazy orange with a lot of bubbles. It smells of fruity, bread dough and clove. The taste is a little bit bitter in a citrus kind of way with some banana and candy tones. It yeasty and a little bit spice. It is a good weizen but a great beer. Its mouth feel is thick but smooth despite the amount of carbonation.

500 ml bottle, many thanks to Gr0ve who supplied it to me from SmartClub Norway. Pours cloudy golden with the typical large hefeweizen head. Strong yeasty aroma with notes of melons, bananas, fermenting fruits and spices. Hints of ammonium. Typical hefe flavour with cloves, not as light-bodied as some other hefes, fairly dry, tolerable hops. Not bad at all. I hope this beer becomes more easily available in Norwegian grocery stores, the ABV allows it.
