Pours a crystal clear, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy head and visible carbonation. Smells of bready, grainy slightly caramelly malt and hints of honey and herbal hops. Taste is a great balance of bready, grainy, slightly caramelly malt and bitter, grassy, herbal, spicy hops, with hints of honey and peppery spice coming through. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some grains, honey and herbal, spicy hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

This makes for a nice brew that's certainly a lot closer to a Märzen than Festbier with its strong, varied malt focus and deep golden amber coloration. The grainy malts come through quite strong here, with sweeter caramel undertones that are balanced quite nicely by some bitter, herbal and spicy hops. Overall, quite an enjoyable example of the style, whatever that may be.
