Wow, what a winner here. Appears clear and golden with light head which doesn't stick around long. Smells a bit grassy with touches of honey and crackers. Taste falls into line with smell which ends with a little hops. Medium body and a real winner in the way of balance between price and taste.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a Shaker pint glass, there is no "best by" date that I can find.
Appearance: pours a clear light golden color with less than one finger white head that slowly dissipated until a thin, broken layer of small bubbles remained, higher than average carbonation, there is some lacing on the glass.
SMELL: sweet honey, bread, crackers, grassy.
TASTE: the taste follows the nose, initially sweet honey, bread and crackers, then a very pleasant hop bite that lingered around a while, in a pleasant way.
PALATE: medium body and higher than average carbonation.
OVERALL: this is a really good Czech Pilsner and reasonably priced, it's authentic tasting and not just an "Americanized" version of a traditional style, I will buy this again for sure and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the style.

HyVee private label beer, brewed by Point. Not sure where Nebraska comes from, HyVee HQ is in Iowa.
Pours a pale gold with a flurry of bubbles. Large head of white foam that rises above the rim of the glass, leaving concentric rings of lacing as it slowly settles.
Aroma is grassy with a dominant lager yeast aroma, mild cracker of Pilsner malt behind that. Taste has much of the same elements, a slight grassy hop bitterness, dry finish. Clean and crisp, can't really complain.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden-yellow color with a very small, white head of foam. It smelled floral with toasted caramel and hints of citrus. Sweet toasted caramel taste with a grassy bitterness.

Sampled last night on 9/28/14. A brand new brew that came out this month actually. Bought a single one to try. From the Baraboo Brewing Company, n Stevens Point, Wisconsin. They don't list the alcohol content on their label, going to guess in the 4.8% to 5.5% range. Bought a single bottle of 'Make your own 6" for $8.99 at the local Hy-Vee. Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a flute glass.
Pours a golden yellow in color with a thin white head that settles down to just the sides of the glass. Some spotty lacing is seen. On the label it says "Traditional Czech-style Pilsner made with authentic Pilsen malt and Saaz hops". The aroma is really nothing special, just some grains and hops. Pretty much the same for the taste also with a bitter finish that lasted more than I like for sure. Medium bodied and medium carbonation also. Overall, nothing special.
