I "won" a bottle of this beer from spinning the rotulet wheel at Bodegas in La Cross, Wisconsin. It pour a clear dark amber with thin off white head that dissipated quickly. The scent had malt and subtle chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with hints of caramel and chocolate malt presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a good beer.

Nothing really outstanding except the combination between a dark stout and a lager.

Poured in teku glass. Very dark kind-of-coke color, this beer leaves very little head that dissipates very very fast
leaving a clear contact to the air at the surface. The aroma is very nice! Chocolate, roasted malts and seaweed, very balanced and complete. Maybe a bit of cherries as well. When I smell the beer some pungent character is coming to the nose, comparable to the sensation of smelling oliveoil or very peated whisky. The taste reveals a more roasted character which is really the dominant one with no other support. Maybe joined to a caramel malt taste as it warms up, which reminds me of a thin dopplebock. The finish is not dry though is pretty sharp and the taste does not live on the tongue very long. Thin carbonation and full-bodied beer. Very nice!

Pours really dark brown with a big mocha head that in a matter of seconds turns to a thin lace and a small film on top.
Smell of cocoa bean, sweet nut, roasted malts, faint vanilla, dark bread.
Taste has a rich complex maltiness, with dark chocolate and a bit of molasses, roasted malts, a salty smokiness that makes you think of bacon, even some woody notes. There's a light dark fruity note in the background, with a bit of licorice, but they're not the stars here. Also sweet nut (like peanut, walnut) and some faint hop in the finish, providing a crispness that balances the mild roast.
Light bodied, prickly carbonation, with a dark malty aftertaste that manages to bypass the lagery feel. A bit watery.
A really tasty dunkel, with a clear craft beer note to it. Gulpable and rich.
