The unfiltered Kellerpils has a mild flavor and a pleasantly aromatic bitterness, which is perfectly balanced by the slightly full-bodied body. In the nose you can feel a fresh, fruity hop aroma with subtle notes of passion fruit and grapefruit. In the aftertaste, on the other hand, slightly grassy, resinous, citrus notes are more recognizable on the palate.

Pours a cloudy, golden amber coloration with a medium, fluffy, lasting head. Smells of doughy, biscuity malt and tropical hops, with notes of passion fruit and pineapple, as well as some grassy accents. Taste is a great balance of doughy, biscuity malt and fruity, slightly grassy and resinous hops, with tropical and lighter citrus notes of passion fruit, pineapple and grapefruit, with just a hint of pine coming through as well. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some passion fruit, grapefruit and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for a very modern interpretation of a rather traditional style, being quite fruity and slightly resinous, although with some grassy, herbal accents as well. I've never had Tango hops before and they really impressed me here with distinct passion fruit, pineapple and grapefruit notes, as well as hints of pine. Good balance of malt and hops as well, although the hops clearly dominate here, feeling almost juicy and certainly making this a very modern interpretation of the style that works very well in its own right though, almost coming across like a West Coast Kellerpils despite lacking a little in bitterness.
