I am currently CANducting a brewery horizontal with HiJinx BC out of Allentown, here in PA. I had meant to do this for a while & got re-inspired during a recent visit to Dominion Pizza with Jeff Lebo, the CAN Man. I may be the founder of The CANQuest (tm), but Jeff is a CANlector who takes my empties for his CANlection.
From the CAN: "A refreshing Belgian Style Witbier brewed with orange peel and coriander. The smooth mouthfeel and balanced flavors of citrus and spice make this a very satisfying and refreshing ale that will beg you to enjoy another glass."; "Tomfoolery in every sip!"
As long as there are no shenanigans involved, I am good. I had a now-hated supervisor who referred to my work as "shenanigans". I am glad to be shut of her & her ilk.
I did some in-CAN agitation before CANducting a Crack! & inverted Glug. A Witbier is meant to be cloudy & I wanted to be sure that everything was in suspension. The initial head quickly dissipated, so I gave it a vigorous in-glass swirl to raise two fingers of foamy, soapy, eggshell-white head with extremely limited retention. Color was a lightly-cloudy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 -5). Nose had a pepperiness that I could have identified as coriander on my own, as well as a sweet citrusiness that I would have wagered as sweet oranges. Not bad, but not a stellar example, either. Mouthfeel was kind of thin & watery. The taste was rather muted, not very spicy and the orange peel was not lending anything spectacular, either. It seemed like a watered-down version of the style. Finish was semi-sweet & it should have been much drier with the inclusion of spices. Not bad, per se, but not worth seeking out. Da**ed with faint praise.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. And yes, that can came courtesy of the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of wheat, spices. Taste is wheat, citrus, spices, smooth and refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid, thirst quenching beer.

Delicious brew. Bought it just earlier today, impressed with its strong hoppy taste for a light Belgian style ale. The orange taste is minimal and doesn't overpower the taste like blue moon or shock top does. A little rype in smell, but very tasty overall. Definitely recommend. Also quite strong in alc. Content, as it is surprisingly got me a little nice after only 3 cans.
