The hazy, golden appearance looks quite appealing. Great foamy head. The smell was not robust - a little hoppy, not much fruit. Average taste. Does not linger on the palate. I wouldn't mind if it had a little thickness on the back end for my tongue to hang on to.

Can poured into IPA glass.
Looks the part, golden, bit hazy, thick white head of foamy bubbles.
Light citrus and some herbal/spicy notes. Hint of malt sweetness.
Crisp bitterness hits first, citrus and herbal, some biscuity malts in there.
Moderate carb and a bit heavier than medium.
Interesting meld of hops, herbal, spicy with big bitterness.

A thanks to the creator of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a hazy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, little else. Taste is citrus, tart, bitter, but not in a good way. Feels medium/light bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

I am currently CANducting a brewery horizontal with HiJinx BC out of Allentown, here in PA. I had meant to do this for a while & got re-inspired during a recent visit to Dominion Pizza with Jeff Lebo, the CAN Man. I may be the founder of The CANQuest (tm), but Jeff is a CANlector who takes my empties for his CANlection.
From the CAN: "A moderately hopped session ale brewed exclusively with comet hops. This flavorful out of this world ale has broad appeal and is a welcome addition to any event or outing."; "Get Some Tail"
HiJinx are fine. As long as there are no shenanigans involved, I am good. I had a now-hated supervisor who referred to my work as "shenanigans". I am glad to be shut of her & her ilk.
I Crack!ed open the CAN & began a slow, gentle pour into the awaiting glass. It is getting late & I am tired to the point that I do not want to clean up a mess if one occurs. A vigorous in-glass swirl raised just under two fingers of dense, foamy, tawny head with great retention that left behind sticky lacing as it slowly fell. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose had a citrusiness that was reminiscent of grapefruit, but not quite so strong or as pronounced. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but certainly big for the style. The taste was kind of a watered-down version of a hoppy AIPA, which is not totally surprising, given that this is a Session AIPA, but it really lacked Ooomph! It seems that Comet hops are a hybrid that went out of style as others with a higher alpha acid yield came into existence. Finish was semi-dry. I was left feeling unfulfilled, like I had been teased, but we did not seal the deal. Overall, it was kind of bland & boring. Sorry.

HiJinx Brewing Co. "Tail Ale"
12 fl. oz. can without freshness dating
$2 @ Wegmans, State College, PA
Look: Hazy golden body beneath a short head of creamy bright white that holds fairly well and leaves some decent lacing behind.
Smell: Limited aroma of lightly citrus and grainy malt.
Taste: Much fuller citrus with a blend of orange and lemon over a sweetish, straightforward golden malt base. A very firm bitterness anchors it and it finishes dry and citrusy.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp with a median carbonation.
Overall: A "solid" but "nothing special" American pale ale that does the trick.
