Pours a somewhat cloudy straw color with a half finger of head. The nose has some muted citrus fruits but it is pretty subtle for the style. The hop bitterness is the preeminent note in the flavor profile. The mouthfeel is slightly resiny and the body could use some heft.
I enjoyed this but, unfortunately, it is a bit of a one note chorus.

A - Amber orange pour with slight haziness and dense, thick lacing.
S - Sweet malt and citrus. Overall the aroma is subdued.
T - Balanced with sweet malt up front but ends with a spicy, citrus peppery, vengeance.
M - Medium body.
O - Balanced and good. Hijinx totally stepped up their game with this beer. I want more of this one.

Viva The CANQuest (tm)! If I am the CANmander, as tone77 likes to refer to me, then Jeff Lebo of CANSmartBeerCANs.com is the CANMaster. He owns & operates a two-story, five-bedroom house that he uses ostensibly as an Air B&B, but it is really to house his CAN collection. He comes over to my place in Lancaster from York Haven about quarterly to pick up my spent CANs & to take me to (usually) lunch. This was from our latest luncheon at Dominion Pizza on Columbia Avenue.
From the CAN: "Brewed exclusively with American hop varieties".
It came in a 16-fl. oz. CAN & since I NEVER feel motivated to clean up a mess, I went with a slow, gentle Glug instead. Once this was sufficiently acCANplished, a vigorous in-glass swirl raised two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, tawny head with great retention. Color was solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was really juicy, like a combination of tropical & citrus fruits, including mango, papaya, guava, orange, lemon & grapefruit. Wow! Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste was more like fruit preserves with a distinct fruitiness, but also a jamminess as well as a biscuity maltiness. OMFG, was this good! I have seen elsewhere that people are comparing it to The Shape of Hops to Come from another PA brewery & it is a fair CANparison, IMHO. The hops were front and center, but the blending/melding of whichever varietals they employed made this an eminently drinkable beer. It did not have the intense bitterness that puts so many off about the style, but it was clearly hop-driven all the same. Its drinkability was dangerous in that the relatively high ABV hid its alcohol quite well & I had swigged down easily a quarter of it without an afterthought. It seems to be a limited one-off, but with any luck, they will put it into roto.
