This is somewhat better than the previous one from these guys. I am the first reviewer & it is for The CANQuest (tm), but at least the photographer rated it. I am generally baffled by Adds with no Ratings (at least). Why even bother?
From the CAN: "India Pale Ale brewed with Coconut".
I was a bit startled during Crack! as it beCAN unCANtrollably foaming through the vent even before I had it CANpletely opened! Eeeek. Fortunately, this was not my first ride at the rodeo so I implemented Emergency Glug Procedures. I inverted the CAN & allowed it to flow freely until it clamed enough to proceed normally. I was very surprised during the standard gentle C-Line Glug when it evinced a pseudo-cascade. This ended up forming two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with very good retention, leaving loads of lacing in its wake. Color was Amber to Deep-Amber/Light-Copper (SRM = > 9, < 13) with NE-quality clarity. Nose was like an odd CANdy bar - coconut, caramel & pine needles! 8=O I'm not so sure about it in terms of style, but it was certainly unique in my exbeerience. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but definitely solid in my mouth & on my tongue. The taste was REALLY heavy with coconut, followed closely by a cool mintiness & a light caramel sweetness. Again, not really with in spec for the style, but as long as you like coconut, you will really dig this number. I remember baking coconut macaroons in high school HomeEc & the building smelling of coconut. This beer was highly reminisCANt of that. Finish was semi-dry with an intense woody bitterness, almost as though it had been oak-aged. Wow! This was unexpectedly quite good. YMMV.
