Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

Poured into an Elysian snifter. Pours a very dark brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger light brown head that dissipates to a ring around the glass with light, slippery lacing. Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate, hint of vanilla, pretty nice. Flavor follows closely to aroma with light toasted malt and chocolate with hot cocoa sweetness. Medium bodied, adequate for a stout, but somewhat thin for an oatmeal stout. A pleasant, but moderately flavored stout with decent blend of toastiness and chocolate. A bit light weight for an oatmeal stout; the flavors are good and this could be a winner with some more aggressive flavors. A nice sipper, but probably a one and done. This was listed at the tap as Chocolate Oatmeal Stout; the brewery site lists a "Masonry Oatmeal Stout", but the ABV is somewhat lower at 6.4 and does not have chocolate in the name, so I'm guessing this is a different brew.
