One of the two cask ales competing at Backstage in Torrington, CT last night, this amber ale showed a golden brown color, very thick and hazy with a bit of an off-white bubble
ring around the top and a hint of some filmy lacing. The aroma offered a deep but
relatively mild flowery hop over sumptuous caramel malt. The flavor delivers
more of an apple cider idea with herbal cinnamon spice and somewhat of a lavender floral
hop funk that mellows nicely as you go. A bit different with a nice drinkable easy feel that includes a healthy dose of fine carbonation for a cask ale. Medium bodied. Probably not a brew I'd seek out regularly but a nice crafty effort that I enjoyed and would happily drink again.
