In 2016, we quietly planted 40 unique tart pie cherry trees, and with them, the seeds of a fruitful relationship with our dear friends at Idiot's Grace Farm. In 2025, we planted even more. As they evolve, do does Estate Kriek, honing notes of spiced cherry cobbler, marzipan and delicate orchard funk.
Every summer, we visit our friends at Idiot's Grace Farm in Mosier, OR to hand pick our single row of Carmine Jewel tart pie cherries. These are added directly to casks of lambic, drawing out flavors of pie crust, baking spices and marzipan.

Pale, pink and reddish hue like red grapefruit juice; cloudy; no head per se, thin ring of foam lines the inside of the glass rim; dense carbonation bubbles percolate vigorously to the top of the beer. Faint, musty nose; farmhouse funk. Beautiful flavor; wheat-like base with a mildly tart and fruity balance; faint note of oak. Medium-heavy body; dense and velvety with a juicy overall tartness.
I like a good Belgian-styled wild ale and this one fits the bill nicely. It is quite approachable, is not overly tart, sour, or sweet, yet deftly balances those three elements in the final product. A fine and easy drinking beer for the style.
