In celebration of this year's hop harvest, we highlight Oregon's Strata variety, which brings nuances of tropical fruit, mandarin, and dankness bubbling beneath a white cloud of foam. Enjoy a pot of golden hops at the end of the IPA rainbow. Pairs with rich burgers, pickled veggies and tent camping.

Deep golden in appearance topped with cloud white foam. Big tropical aromas balanced with resiny fresh hop flavors of citrus, sweet cannabis, and with a kiss of dried chili powder. This beer finishes super floral, green, bright and dank.

Had at the brewery yesterday. Pours a typical golden color with a nice white head. Has a citrus aroma and taste. A little resiny dankness but not as much as I expected from the description. I love my fresh hopped beers.55 IBUs Rated 9-26-2023

another winner from pfriem, i was stoked on their fresh hop selections this year, and even though everyone and their brother seems to be using strata for these now, i dont think there is any denying that this one is near the top of the leaderboard. i like it not being a hazy, being simple on the grain side, and not pushing too hard on the hops, the freshness and subtleties are allowed to drive this, and thats a cool vibe for this to have, makes it incredibly drinkable. the strata emits a big nose of fresh coconut, key lime, white peach, and herbal lemon verbena or something, definite just picked character, nicely supported by a round lightly toasted grain profile and a neutral yeast, this is simplicity and quality ingredients at their finest. the flavor is cool, the strata is oily and the hop goodness is on my tongue right away, coconut for sure, kiwi fruit, honeydew, bitter white grapefruit, light floral honey, and some slightly richer crystal type malt rising up as it warms. fruity and summery, light overall in terms of relative hop intensity, but a well rounded and satiating brew overall, i like how fast finishing it is, how clean the hops come out at the end, and how lively it feels. this is as good an expression of strata as there is out there, albeit a somewhat softer one, which is neat to discover in this. really good ipa, balanced and sort of light enough to almost drink like a pale. a top beer in the wet hop scene this fall!

A pretty pour, typical of pFriem's brewing style. Nose is quite fruity with a hint of dankness. Delicious taste; lots of hop flavor, tingling bitterness and a pure, lingering finish. You get tropical mango / papaya, maybe a hint of grapefruit. Carbonation is lively from start to finish. ABV is 6.9%, well into IPA range.
