Pours a crystal clear golden amber with plenty of foam in the Ommegang chalice. The aroma is unusual, and has hints of lemon and lime with leaf mold. Flavors of cucumber and something dark and woody. This is just plain peculiar, though well-made as all pFriem brews. Light and bright with perfect carbonation, and a crisp lemony finish. But odd. Still, it's worth trying for the uncommon single hop. The Lórien hop is brought to you by Indie Hops, the developers of Strata. From the 16 oz can purchased down south. Date not readable.

Look: Lightly cloudy pale yellow with a kind of lime/electric green glow and my pour yields a humongous head that builds up, holds, and slowly settles to a pillow, leaving awesome lacing behind
Aroma: Fresh cut grass, straw, citrus blossoms, ripe pear, Hall’s honeysuckle, dawn viburnum, wafts of lemon, tea olive, and pilsner malt
Taste: Follows the nose but more pronounced. Pear, lemon, and citrus blossoms hit hard up front along with some cut grass and nice fresh hop character. Straw and a floral potpourri follow with waves of flowery goodness coming hit after hit as pear, lemon, and grass continue to weave in and out throughout until the close
Mouthfeel: Full but light, clean, medium-high carbonation, and crisp and clean on the finish
Overall: This is some delicious stuff. I’ll drink anything these folks make and my fresh hop endeavors are more or less over for the season but when I saw this, I had to try it as Lorien is new to me this year and I’m into it so wanted to see what these folks could do with a fresh hop Pilsner. Long story short, it’s winning. The floral, citrus, and straw combo that Lorien brings already lends to a Pilsner as does the fresh hop grassiness and it all comes together to make a beautiful and tasty beer. Recommended

lovely beer here, pfriem continues to kick butt with whatever they do, and i was stoked on their wet hop offerings this season. this is a great base lager, their lager game has been dialed, and lorien is a neat hop for it, less common than it maybe should be, love its subtle herbal character, lemongrass and lawn clippings in the nose, white tea and dried stone fruit in the flavor, a little green grape, some obvious vegetal freshness, but low alpha to me, and sporting some noble hop properties too with a little back end spiciness. the base lager rules, near clear, very very light looking, extremely well carbonated, and basic without being plain if that makes sense. a fresh almost european malt profile, dry but not minimal, crackery and supportive of all the hops, and it holds the oils of the fresh hops well, faint coconut and lemon as this warms, pretty dynamic for being as light and drinkable as it is overall. white tea and white bread, slight mid palate sweetness, rushing carbonation make it very refreshing and crushable. the hop profile really is unique, but it fits so well in this lager context, and the yeast aspect is there adding another dimension and keeping this kind of traditional despite it pushing some boundaries. epic quality, intriguing beer, id love to try lorien in a more robustly hopped pale ale or something, but this is way cool. a standout from wet hop season this year for me! beautifully well refined. more please!

16oz can
Pours three massive fingers of white head into my Willi. Retention is pretty nice. Lacing is strong. Body is golden yellow, crystal clear, with a massive nucleation. Looks very nice.
Nose is very zesty, some spice, with a significant earthiness that borders on dirt, or probably more accurately - hay. Has aspects of latex or sulfur when it all comes together. I’m not sure this is “bad”, but boy is it not for me.
Thankfully the flavor is much more palatable. Spicy, a modest touch of hay, with a zesty undertone and solid earthy backbone, finishing with faint notes of peach. Clean yet flavorful, this is an amped up Pilsner.
Carbonation is medium. Body is light, crisp, and clean. No sweetness. Bitterness is delicate, hitting with a little umph in the finish. Mouthfeel is great.
Drinkability is good.
Over time the hay does get more prominent on the flavor, but it doesn’t destroy the palate the way it does on the nose. Overall a nice beer but definitely not a hop variety I will seek out in the future.

Can from Saraveza.
A crystal clear straw yellow with a dense white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is just spectacular expression of what a Czech pils should be. Dusty, lemony, mildly earthy hops with sticky lemon rind and a little resin on a gorgeous cracker-crisp malt backbone. The palate opens clean, mildly bitter with a lovely, complex malt depth, raw, doughy , a touch of straw. Notes of pear juice are present. The fresh hops add a depth to the hop palate quite spectacularly. Drying, doughy, delicately hoppy on the finish. Excellent.
