A decadent collaboration with Woodblock Chocolate. The infusion of cacao nibs created enchanting notes of chocolate and dark fruit.

2024 edition, poured from a 12-oz bottle into a goblet.
Look: Dark brown/black, with a 3/4” tan head that reduced to a foam ring with finely-bubbled lacing.
Nose: Chocolate, dark roast, dried fruit, and whiskey, in perfect balance.
Attack: Oh, my goodness! There is so much going on here in such exquisite balance, it’s difficult to know where to begin. All of the elements in the nose are here, plus raisin. Gently sweet to perfection.
Finish: Just enough bitterness from the dark roast to balance.
Mouthfeel: Thick and smooth, perfect carbonation.
Overall: How to sum up a fine brew like this? It’s certainly worth every bit of its high ratings, and more. This is one of the two or three best beers I’ve ever enjoyed. I agree it’s the ideal dessert or top of the evening beer. I bought two of these — for my son and me to enjoy together, a sharing we’ll not soon forget.

Superb. Round, soft, rich, smooth. Bourbon soaked chocolate lava cake. Beautiful big head that stuck around like very few other 11% beers. The quality and finesse here is noteworthy.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a one finger dark khaki head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, bourbon and some dark dried fruit; a bit boozy. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, lactose and bourbon; bourbon dipped chocolate ball finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess. A big, bold and quite bourbony chocolate stout; both ingredients are on display. Excellent chocolate flavor. There are some dark fruit notes, but the two dominant flavors are most of the show here. A bit hot, but rich enough to support the barreling and ABV. From what I tasted of the base stout, I'd also like to see it available too. Full flavored and enjoyable.

12oz. pour at Morty's Tap & Grill, on Spokane's South Hill.
Jet black looking in the shaker pint glass in which it arrived. Unfortunately, it was a typical bartender pour, so there was little head, but what there was had a khaki color to it.
The nose was equal parts boozy bourbon and milky (it's brewed with lactose) chocolate. Smelled rich, boozy and decadent.
Flavor is pretty much the same as the nose, although in a different order. Big, sweet, milk chocolate flavor up front, with a boozy bourbony taste in the background. The chocolate sticks around throughout the taste, and is still present at the fadeout.
Almost a pastry stout. Big, boozy and sweet. Nice dessert beer or night cap. pFriem does it again.
